Men's Lacrosse Announces 2022 Slate

DETROIT (12/7/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team will look to be road warriors when the new season arrives as the Titans will play seven road games compared to three home games with the announcements of the 2022 schedule.

Detroit Mercy is in its 14th year of lacrosse but the first as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, with the league championship set for May 5-7 at a still to be determined location. Details on championship weekend will be released soon.

The Titans will begin the year with five road games against some of the best programs in the nation. Detroit Mercy open its campaign at Ohio State on Feb. 5 before playing at Michigan on Feb. 12. The red, white and blue will then head to Notre Dame on Feb. 19, Marquette on Mar. 5 and High Point on Mar. 26.

The first home game will have ASUN implications as the Titans host league-rival Robert Morris on Apr. 2. The next week, it will be another new conference team in town with Air Force on Apr. 9.

Detroit Mercy will head to another new league rival in Bellarmine on April. 16 before its final home game of the year against ASUN foe Cleveland State on Apr. 23. The final regular season and conference contest will have the red, white and blue fly out to Utah on Apr. 30.

The brand new Atlantic Sun Conference will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with the winner of the conference tournament representing the league.

Detroit Mercy returns 32 letterwinners and its top six point scorers from a year ago, where it was 3-4 overall and 3-2 in the MAAC.
