Antoine Davis has been named the Horizon League men's basketball Player of the Week and he also added the Lou Henson National Player of the Week accolade.
He has now won the Horizon League weekly award six times in his career, while the Lou Henson National Player of the Week is presented annually to the top Mid-Major player in Division I college basketball.
Davis helped the Titans keep rolling with a sweep over Rober Morris - the 10th win in the last 12 games for Detroit Mercy - as he posted 27.5 points, 8.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals. He had 16 assists against just five turnovers in the two games.
He started the weekend with 26 points and a season-tying eight assists, in game one and then tallied a game-high 29 points with another eight assists in game two.
Davis has now scored at least 23 points in 12-straight games and leads the Horizon League in scoring at 23.3 points per game, including 24.5 points in HL-only games. He has 1,978 career points, tied for 14th in Horizon League history and just seven points behind NBA Hall-Of-Famer Dave DeBusschere for third in school history (1,985).
Davis and the Titans are getting ready to open the Horizon League Basketball Championships as they are the No. 5 seed and host 12th-seeded Robert Morris on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
