TOLEDO, Ohio (8/26/2021) -- Senior midfielder
Julie Ann Piechocki scored for the second-straight game, but the University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team dropped a road match to Toledo from Paul Hotmer Field, 6-1. The road match was the third-straight for the Titans to open the 2021 fall campaign.
Piechocki scored early in the second half in the 51st minute to tie the game, 1-1. She was assisted on the goal by freshman forward
Erica Leinweber, who tallied her first collegiate point with the helper. Piechocki's goal was her second of the season and 11th in her Detroit Mercy career.
Leinweber led the team with four shots, three of them on net. Detroit Mercy was on-target during the match, putting six of seven shots on goal. Piechocki had two shots on goal, while junior
Alessandra Pontoni also had a shot on goal for the red, white and blue.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Jazmine Scott earned the start in goal and made seven saves for the Titans.
