Brandi Washington reached double figures for the fifth straight game with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor with a pair of triples and career-best three blocks as Detroit Mercy hung tough in the first half before eventually falling 78-59 at #HLWBB leader Youngstown State on Friday night.

Lucia Fleta Robles added a career-high 10 points going 2-for-4 from 3-point range while dishing a career-best four assists. Sophomore
Irene Murua just missed her second triple double with 11 points and nine rebounds with three assists. Junior
Imani McNeal also dished out a career-best six assists and grabbed a career-mark seven rebounds.
Detroit Mercy had a strong first half but a late second quarter 11-2 run by YSU (18-2, 12-1 HL) proved to be the difference. Additionally, the Penguins held a large 22-6 points off turnovers advantage.
In the first quarter, Detroit Mercy came out on a mission to get the ball down low as Pruitt and Murua scored six and four points respectively while Washington added five points from the wing as the Titans only trailed by three points, 20-17, by the end of the frame.
Fleta Robles hit a 3-pointer to open the second quarter tying the game at 20-20. After both offenses went cold for a little over two minutes, Washington heated up from long range hitting a pair of 3-point buckets to pull the Titans within four points at 31-28. However, YSU responded with an 11-2 run to close out the frame with a 42-30 lead at the half and never looked back in the second half.
Fleta Robles secured her second triple of the game while Murua scored five points in the third quarter giving her 11 for the game at the Titans trailed 62-46 heading into the fourth quarter. In the final frame, the Titans shot 6-for-13 (46.1%) but could not cut into the lead.
