DETROIT (12/8/2022) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team will have five home dates on campus on the brand new turf at Titan Field as the Titans announced their 2023 schedule on Thursday.

Detroit Mercy will begin the year on the road at VMI on Feb. 4 and at High Point on Feb. 11. Last season, the red, white and blue made school history with its biggest comeback ever, trailing VMI 9-1 in the first before coming back to win 16-11, while the team will look for some revenge after an 18-8 setback at HPU IN 2022. 

The first home game will have Jesuit-rival Marquette in the Motor City on March 4, and that will be followed by the final non-conference match-up of the year as the Titans visit Ohio State on March 14.

The Atlantic Sun will then start league play and fill the remaining ledger as Detroit Mercy travels to conference newcomer Mercer on March 18 before two-straight home games against teams that made the league championship in regular-season winner Utah (Mar. 25) and tournament victor Robert Morris (Mar. 29). 

The Titans will head to league and Division I newcomer Queens University in Charlotte on April 1 before welcoming another new addition to the ASUN and DI in Lindenwood on April 8.

Detroit Mercy will end the regular season with three of four on the road playing at Jacksonville (Apr. 12) and Air Force (Apr. 15) before Senior Day has Bellarmine in town on April 22. The final game of the regular season will see the team at Cleveland State on April 29. The Titans defeated the Vikings in dramatic fashion last season, scoring two goals inside a minute for a 13-12 triumph. 

The ASUN Championship will all be held at Robert Morris this year, with quarterfinal games on May 2, the semifinals on May 5, and the title contest with a berth to the NCAA Tournament on the line on May 7. 

Detroit Mercy returns 28 letterwinners from last season as well as four of its top six scorers.
