YOUNGSTOWN (2/27/22) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team wrapped up the Horizon League indoor championships by placing fifth in the event hosted by Youngstown State over the weekend. 
 
A Major Finish
Elijah Major finished fourth in the 60-Meter Dash finals with a time of 6.91, just 0.04 seconds off his personal record time set a week ago at the Silverston Invitational. Major also earned fourth in the 200-Meter Dash at 21.88 seconds while also helping the 4x400 Meter Relay to a sixth-place score. The freshman's accolades didn't end there as he secured Horizon League Indoor Rookie Runner of the Year. 
 
Student Becomes The Master
In the 3000-Meter Run, 
Thomas Mueller scored fourth at 8:29.62, passing Titans' director of track and field and cross-country 
Guy Murray '89 for fifth all-time in school history. 
 
Season Best Relay
The Titans' 4x400-Meter Relay team took sixth at the indoor championships while also running the fastest time of the season for the relay team at 3:24.29. 
 
Up Next
Now that the Titans have wrapped up the indoor season, the red, white and blue will begin preparing for the outdoor season. Stay tuned for an announcement on the 2022 outdoor schedule.
