Davis Selected To USBWA All-District V, NABC All-District 12 Teams

INDIANAPOLIS (3/17/2022) -- For the second time in his career, University of Detroit Mercy senior Antoine Davis was among the best in the Midwest as he was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District V Team as well as to the NABC All-District 12 First Team for the third time.

For the USBWA, The teams are based on voting from its national membership of 900-plus. The USBWA has selected All-District Teams since the 1956-57 season, its founding year. The District V teams are comprised of programs from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. For the NABC, All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.

Davis - who earned a spot on the team in 2019 - was the only member of the squad that did not play in the Big Ten or the BIG EAST.

Davis leads the Horizon League and is third in the nation in scoring at 23.9 points per game. If that holds up for the HL, he would be the first player in conference history to lead the league in scoring four times surpassing the three-straight years by Loyola's Alfredrick Hughes (1983, 1984, 1985). If it also holds up him in the top four, it would mark the fourth-straight season he was in the top four in the nation in scoring (26.1 for third in 2019, 24.3 for fourth in 2020, 24.0 for third in 2021).

He is also leading the HL and second in the NCAA with 3.90 three-point field goals per game, tops in the league and fourth in the nation with 113, 3-pointers, second in the conference and seventh in the country with 694 total points and third in the HL and 74th in the nation with 4.4 assists per game.

His six 30-point games led the Horizon League and he also had the top two scoring performances with 39 points at Hofstra and against Milwaukee, while his 18, 20-point games were the second-highest in the league despite having five games canceled on the season due to the pandemic.

He finished his senior year 13th in NCAA history with 429 career triples and 21st with 2,734 points.
