Davis Earns Lou Henson All-America Laurels For Third Time

BOSTON (3/29/2022) -- Adding to his already impressive collegiate resume, University of Detroit Mercy senior Antoine Davis was once again selected as a finalist for the 2022 Lou Henson Award.

As a finalist, he was also tabbed a Lou Henson All-American. 

Davis was the Co-Horizon League Player of the Year who was also selected First Team USBWA All-District V and NABC All-District 12 and a Second Team CoSIDA Academic All-America.

Davis topped the Horizon League and is third in the nation in scoring at 23.9 points per game, the first player in conference history to lead the league in scoring four times surpassing the three-straight years by Loyola's Alfredrick Hughes (1983, 1984, 1985). 

He also led the league and is second in the NCAA with 3.90 three-point field goals per game, tops in the league and fifth in the nation with 113, 3-pointers, the league leader with a 37.9 three-point field-goal percentage for 57th in DI, second in the conference and 11th in the country with 694 total points and third in the HL and 77th in the nation with 4.4 assists per game. 

Davis ended his senior year 13th in NCAA history with 429 career triples and 21st with 2,734 points and is just 180 behind Hughes for the top spot in Horizon League history. In his career, Davis now posted 77,  20-point games, 26 career 30-point outings and four 40-point contests in 111 collegiate games and has also scored in double figures in all 111 games, the fourth-longest streak in NCAA history. 

The Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award, which is presented annually to the top mid-major player in Division I college basketball, honors the former Illinois and New Mexico State head coach who won 775 games in 41 seasons.
