DETROIT (3/31/2022) -- The University of Detroit Mercy has announced a national search for a new women's basketball head coach.

LaTanya Collins had been serving as the interim head coach since last June as she assembled a brand new 14-player roster for the 2021-22 campaign.

"I would like to thank coach Collins for her guidance and leadership that she provided this past year," said Director of Athletics Robert C. Vowels, Jr. "She took on a brave challenge, but after a review of the program, I feel that we need to move on and conduct a national search for a new head coach."
