ROCHESTER (5/8/22) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team finished strong in the Horizon League Outdoor Championships moving from seventh on day two to fourth by the end of the third and final day. 

Detroit Mercy would finish the championship weekend with 77.5 points as a team. 

The Titans got day three started by winning the 4x100 Relay on a time of 41.16 seconds. The Titans went with an order of Bonanza Cummings, Dante Bassham, Elijah Major, and Aquari Walker to take the gold. 

Derrick Ball Jr. hit the Titans' No. 4 all-time mark in the Triple Jump at 13.83 meters which scored seventh at the championships. 

Payton Norkey and Davis Hellonen went third and fourth in the 110 Hurdles on times of 14.91 seconds for Norkey and a personal record 15.13 seconds for Hellonen. Norkey would also finish fifth in the 400 Hurdles on a 55.34 second personal record. 

Daniel Lanfear finished with bronze in the High Jump at 2.01 meters. 

In the 200-Meter, Bassham ran for silver at 21.84 seconds with Major right behind him for bronze at 21.87 seconds.
