Antoine Davis were honored with the department's top honor in the President's Award as the University of Detroit Mercy announced its 2021-22 Athletic Department Athletic and Academic award winners on Friday.
The President's Award goes to a male and female graduating senior who, during his/her tenure at Detroit Mercy, has shown academic and athletic excellence. These individuals are leaders on and off the field and represent the true essence of being a Titan student-athlete.
"All of our student-athletes, award winners and nominees deserve a huge round of applause for everything they accomplish in the classroom and in competition," said Director of Athletics

Arnold was Second Team All-Horizon League in cross country and outdoor track and field during this past season. She claimed 10th in cross country with a career 6k best of 23:28 and then was runner-up in the steeplechase at the Outdoor Horizon League Championship in 11:09. She also had scored in the Horizon League Championships on the sixth-place DMR in the 2022 HL Indoor championships, seventh-place in 2021 and fifth place in 2020 along with sixth-place 4x400 in 2020 and eighth place in 2019. She is a five-time member of the Detroit Mercy Athletic Director's Honor Roll, a four-time member of the HL Fall and Spring Honor Rolls and was Horizon League All-Academic in 2022 for outdoor track and field.
Davis is a four-time First Team All-Horizon League player and was named Co-HL Player of the Year as a senior. He led the league in scoring for the fourth straight year, the first HL player to lead the conference in scoring four times. In his four seasons, he has scored 2,734 career points, tops in school history, second all-time in Horizon League history and 22nd in NCAA history. He also has 429 career 3-pointers, first in Horizon League history and 12th in NCAA history, while his 3.86, three-point field goals per game are currently fifth all-time in NCAA history. Davis is a two-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and the HL Fall and Spring Academic Honor Rolls and was a member of the Horizon League All-Academic Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 and a CoSIDA Academic Second Team All-America.
The Titan Club Award (Male and female upper-class student-athlete on the merits of athletic performance and academic excellence)

Paul Manuszak and track and field junior
Micah Carey were honored with the Titan Club Award. Manuszak - a two-time MAAC LSM of the Year - ended his career second in school history in ground balls (218) and fourth in caused turnovers (62) along with 13 goals and six assists. He was a USILA Scholar All-American, a four-time member of the MAAC and ASUN All-Academic Team, a five-time member of the Detroit Mercy Athletic Director's Honor Roll and a five-time member of the MACC and ASUN Honor Rolls.
Carey has scored in five Horizon League Championships in her career, including taking silver this outdoor season in the long jump with a career-best and school-record 5.82-meters. She has also scored in the triple jump in the indoor and outdoor campaigns as a freshman and sophomore and was a part of the outdoor seventh-place 4x100-meter relay in 2022. She is a three-time member of the Detroit Mercy Athletic Director's Honor Roll and a two-time member of the HL Fall and Spring Honor Rolls.
Reverend Norbert Huetter Award (Male and female student-athlete who sets an example for others by their display of attitude, dedication and leadership)

Leena Mortensen and men's track and field senior jumper
Daniel Lanfear earned the Reverend Norbert Huetter Award. Mortensen returned to action after beating Hodgkin's Lymphoma and overcoming tendinitis in her wrist that forced her to miss the 2020 and 2021 seasons to start 41 of a team-best 42 games at designated player and first base. She led the team in at bats (120), ranked second in doubles (5), third in RBI (8) and fourth in hits (24). Lanfear earned a trip to the NCAA Division I Championships Preliminary Round in the high jump, the 13th Titan to compete since the preliminary round was introduced in 2010. He finished third in the high jump at the Horizon League Championships with a mark of 2.01m and then posted a career-best 2.09m, the second highest in school history, to earn the NCAA bid.
The Dad Butler Award (Awarded to a male and female student–athlete who has shown determination in the rehabilitation of an athletic injury)

Leena Mortensen and men's soccer senior
Bennett Brooks received the Dad Butler Award. Mortensen overcame her ailments to plate a RBI single in her first at-bat this season - 1,005 days since her last official collegiate at-bat - while Brooks persevered through a broken ankle to return to action.
Larry Bleach Award (Male and female student-athlete who sets the strength and conditioning standards for other student-athletes to follow)

Claire Conway were honored with the Larry Bleach Award. Both upperclassmen were leaders on and off the field and always showed dedication in becoming the best student-athlete they could be.
The Top Performance Award (Awarded to a male and female athlete or team and dedicated to the top athletic performance of the season)
This season's Top Performance honor went to women's lacrosse senior
Elise Harder and men's track and field junior
Dante Bassham. Harder pulled down a school-record 19 draw controls and also had a team-high four goals and added an assist, ground ball and caused turnover against St. Bonaventure. Bassham earned the most points for the Titans at the Outdoor Horizon League Championships posting 16 individual points with runner-up efforts in the 100 and 200 meters - breaking the school record in the 100m with a time of 10.39 in the prelims - and was part of the first place 4x100 and the fifth place 4x400 as he had a hand in 30 of the 77.5 team points.
Spirit Award (Awarded to a person who is the truest of all fans)
The 2022 Spirit Award went to graduate senior
Thomas Mueller of the men's cross country and track and field programs as well as a member of the Titan pep band and a HL SAAC representative.
The Horizon League Raise Your Sights Award winners went to men's golf and women's soccer as the two Titan teams had the top GPA's within the Athletic Department during the 2021-22 school year. The women's soccer team registered a team GPA of 3.57, while the men's golf team had the highest overall GPA in the department at 3.64.
