Box Score HIGH POINT, N.C. (2/11/2023) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team got into an early hole and could not find itself out as the Titans fell, 17-2, at High Point on Saturday. 

Senior Tyler Hart started and made four saves, while sophomore Jakob Hemme came off the bench in the second half and finished with 13.

Senior Luke Majick and sophomore Chase Mahabir each scored a goal, while sophomore Sean Henige had two caused turnovers and a team-high four ground balls. Redshirt freshman Eoghan Mullett had two caused turnovers and two ground balls and junior Noah Martin posted a pair of takeaways.

The Titans (0-2) saw High Point (1-1) score the first five when Mahabir got the team on the board with under four minutes left in the first. The Panthers would take an 11- lead at the break and led 15-1 in the fourth when Majick scored his first of the season. 

Freshman Logan Flaherty won three faceoffs and sophomore Billy Hart claimed four. Freshman Kyle Grant and sophomore Joey Schmaltz each had a caused turnover, the first collegiate one for Schmaltz, and senior David Beacom registered a caused turnover.

The Titans will have a few weeks off as the red, white and blue host Marquette on March 4.
