DETROIT (8/2/2023) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team has signed 16 new student-athletes for the upcoming 2024 campaign.
15 of the Titans are true freshmen, while one graduate transfer has joined the program.Â
"I feel this group will add to our strengths and improve on some of our weaknesses," said head coach
Chris Kolon '09 (MBA). "They are a group that brings a lot of skill on the field and the traits we are looking for in Titans in strong academics and outstanding community members."

- A three-year letterwinner in lacrosse
- Helped his team to a CHSL title as a senior
- His sister, Emma, is a junior on the women's lacrosse team

- The career leader in his high school with 238 points on 169 goals and 69 assists, leading his team in scoring as a sophomore, junior and senior
- Selected the USA Lacrosse Bob Scott Award winner as a senior, which recognizes a player who goes 'above and beyond' in service to his team, school, and community
- A CIF Southern Section All-Star selection as a senior
- Named First Team All-CIF Southern Section and First Team All-Bay League as a junior and senior
- Tabbed Second Team All-CIF Southern Section and Second Team All-Bay League as a sophomore

- Named a 2023 National Team Player as a senior at IMG, where he posted 101 saves and a 54.1 save percentage
- At Lansing Catholic, he was a 2022 All-State Honorable Mention, team MVP, All-Conference and a LSJ All-Area performer as a junior after tallying 295 saves and a 69.1% save percentage

Marcus Thundercloud * A/MF * Cedarburg, Wisc. * University School of Milwaukee
- Earned letters in hockey, soccer and lacrosse
- Recorded 177 career points on 107 goals and 70 assists in just 47 gamesÂ
- A team captain his last two seasons, he was selected the Classic 8-Black Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference as a junior and senior
- Tallied 84 points with 56 goals and 28 assists as a senior
- Second Team All-Conference as a freshman and sophomore

- Spent the last two seasons at UMass Lowell, where he played in 21 games with 11 starts and registered 14 goals, five assists and 20 ground balls
- Had two goals as a senior, scoring against Merrimack and at Holy Cross
- Had 12 goals and four assists as a junior, where he took 43 shots with 33 on goal for a .767 shots on-goal percentage
- As a junior, tallied a career-high four points on three goals and an assist against Albany
- Also had multi-goal games with two markers against Siena, at Merrimack and at Stony Brook
- Picked up a career-best four ground balls against Quinnipiac, at Merrimack and at NJIT
- In his first two collegiate seasons at Canisius, he appeared in four games and had two GB's
- In high school, he was All-League, All-Western Massachusetts selection and a two-time All-ISL Honorable Mention selection in his final two seasons
- Finished his prep career with 261 points on 163 goals and 98 assists and was a member of the US Lacrosse U20 team for two seasonsÂ
