YPSILANTI, Mich. (1/21/2024) -- Sophomore
Joshua Otten captured his first collegiate title winning the 800-meters as the University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team wrapped up Eastern Michigan's Bob Parks Memorial on Saturday.
Otten surged ahead early and never looked back in the event, clocking a time of 1:57.82. He also set a career time of 4:21.03 in the mile for ninth to lead the Titans.
Junior
Cody Bartlett placed third in the high jump with a leap of 1.95-meters, while senior
Gabriel Baumchen set a career time in the 60-meter hurdles of 8.79 before finishing seventh overall in 8.91.
Sophomore
Jaden McKenzie claimed fourth in the 300m in 36.49. Senior
Joe Toole led the Titans in the 200m, taking sixth in 26.28, and sophomore
Antonio Talley was fifth in the 400m running 50.44.
McKenzie and Talley also teamed with junior
Isaiah Bonner and freshman
Mike Ferguson for third in the 4x400-meter relay to post a time of 3:29.39.
Senior
Evan Eding recorded a fourth-place effort in the triple jump with a mark of 12.82m and was sixth in the long jump at 6.36m and
The Titans will now get ready for Grand Valley State's Bill Clinger Classic on Friday, Jan. 26.
