ANN ARBOR, Mich. (2/16/2024) -- Sophomore
Anthony Yip posted career throws in the weight and shot put as the University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team concluded the regular season at Michigan's Silverston Invitational on Friday.
Yip was third in the shot put with a toss of 11.68 meters, nearly a meter better than his previous career mark. He was also fourth in the weight with a heave of 11.66m.
Graduate senior
Zachary Zaborney earned his second silver of the year in the triple jump with a mark of 12.81m, finishing ahead of senior
Evan Eding's 12.15m and junior
Cody Bartlett's 11.97m, third and fourth, respectively.
Sophomore
Antonio Talley claimed sixth in the 400-meters in 49.74, ahead of sophomore
Jaden McKenzie's seventh-place time of 50.36 and freshman
Mike Ferguson's eighth-place effort of 52.24, and sophomore
Joshua Otten placed 12th in the mile in 4:16.28.
The Titans will have one final week of practice before the Horizon League Championship next weekend, Feb. 24-25, held at Youngstown State.
