YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (2/24/2024) -- The distance medley relay came up with three points for the Titans as the University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team started day one of the Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.
The quarter of sophomores
Joshua Otten and
Jaden McKenzie, junior
Isaiah Bonner, and graduate senior
Oscar Hernandez garnered three points, placing sixth in 10:20.86.
Moving into tomorrow's championship in the 400-meters was sophomore
Antonio Talley, as he was seventh in the prelims, clocking 49.42 on the gun.
Freshman
Joshua Neary is more than halfway through the heptathlon. He started the event by earning second in the 60-meter dash in 7.57. He was also fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.66m and sixth in the high jump (1.61m) and shot put (9.35m).
Graduate senior
Zachary Zaborney was ninth in the long jump at 6.45m, while freshman
Christopher Russelburg claimed 12th in the 5,000m in a season-best 14:45.17, the fifth-best time in school history.
The final day of the championships will get underway with the heptathlon events at 9:00 a.m. and fans can watch most of the events on ESPN+ or follow with live results.
