Makayla Jackson had her third-best performance of the season scoring a team-high nine points on 3-of-7 shooting with a 3-pointer as Detroit Mercy fell 87-44 to #HLWBB leader Green Bay on Saturday afternoon at the Kress Center.

Irene Murua had seven points while sophomore
Amaya Burch had six points connecting on two triples. Sophomore
Myonna Hooper had five points including a half-court buzzer-beater before the half.
Freshman
Kamari Forrest chipped in with four points while freshman
Paris Gilmore, senior
Lucia Fleta Robles, and junior
Emma Trawally Porta had three points each.
Jackson made a layup to give UDM (15-14, 8-10 HL) an early 8-6 lead. Green Bay (23-5, 16-2 HL) responded with a 17-2 run before Murua converted a lay-up to beat the buzzer to end the first quarter with the Titans trailing 23-12.
The Phoenix turned up the defensive pressure in the second quarter holding the Titans to only nine points which all came from long range as Burch hit her second 3-pointer followed by one from Fleta Robles. With time winding down, Hooper took the inbound pass, took off, and sunk a half-court shot as time expired to end the half with UDM trailing 45-21.
The Titans could not get the offense going in the second half as they were held to nine points again in the third quarter. UDM then added 14 points in the final quarter with the outcome already decided.
Detroit Mercy closes out the regular season with a two-game home stand beginning with IUPUI on Thursday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m.
