DETROIT (5/22/2024) -- Two Titans will have one more game left in their collegiate career as University of Detroit Mercy graduate senior Kyle Loken and senior Noah Martin have been selected to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Senior All-Star Game, sponsored by Blatant Lacrosse, the organization announced.

Both players will join head coach Chris Kolon '09 (MBA) on the Division I/II South Team. 

The duo mark the fourth and fifth Titans to ever play in the game following Hall-Of-Famer Jordan Houtby '13 (South) in 2013, Troy Dennis '14 (South) in 2014 and Paul Manuszak '21 (North) in 2022. 

A three-time team captain, Loken played in 49 games in his five years. The short-stick defensive midfielder tallied 78 ground balls, 25 caused turnovers, and 13 points on 10 goals and three assists.

Martin - a team captain as a senior - appeared in 44 games and recorded 35 caused turnovers for 11th in school history, along with 67 ground balls as a defenseman. 

The 2024 USILA Senior All-Star Game will be held on Friday, May 24, at Widener University in Chester, Pennslyvania. The Division III game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m., followed by the Division I-Division II game at 6 p.m.

The first North-South College all-star game was played in 1940 at Municipal Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. The North squad, coached by Princeton's Bill Logan, won that inaugural event with a 6-5 victory over the South team, coached by Maryland's Jack Faber. Sixty-six total games have been played with interruptions occurring only in with the exception of 1944 and 1945 the North/South games have been played each year without interruption.

In 1991, the USILA split the event and created two games. The Division I-II game and the Division III game. This two-game format was interrupted in 2006 when a special committee of the USILA recommended returning to one game but combining all divisions. The following year, 2007, saw the return to two separate games.
