Titans Send Three More Runners To Sunday Finals

Freshman Joshua Neary earned points in the decathlon and a place in the 400mH finals.
ROCHESTER, Mich. (5/4/2024) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team saw a number of career times and sent a few runners to the finals as day two of the Horizon League Championship came to an end on Saturday.

Sophomore Jaden McKenzie qualified for the 200 and 400-meter finals, setting a pair of personal records. He posted a time of 48.36 for fourth in the 400m and was seventh in the 200m in 21.90. 

Sophomore Joshua Otten made the finals in the 800m taking fifth in a career-best 1:54.17. In day one, he qualified for the finals in the 1,500m.

Freshman Joshua Neary took sixth in the decathlon with 4,729 points, sixth in school history, winning the event's 1,500m in a career time of 4:52.01. He also qualified for the finals of the 400-meter hurdles clocking 1:00.92

Day three of the championships will start at 10:00 a.m., with the hammer and triple jump and Noon for the running events.
