INDIANAPOLIS (6/3/2024) -- University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse junior Ryan Richters ended his first year in the red, white and blue ranking in the top three in the nation in a national statistic.

Richters tallied 14.38 saves per game to lead the Atlantic Sun and finished third in Division I, trailing only Emmet Carroll from Penn (15.87) and Mason Oak from Quinnipiac (15.43).

Richters's 187 total saves was tied for 17th in the country and was second in the school record book, just 15 shy of Jason Weber's 202 in 2015.

Junior Sean Henige was seventh in the ASUN with 1.23 caused turnovers per game, while junior Billy Hart's 3.67 ground balls per game was good for sixth in the league.

The Titans did see one of their NCAA records challenged this season as national champion Notre Dame scored on the man-up on 69.2%, but UDM's 70.8% in 2014 held up.
