Men's Basketball Reels In JJ Louden

JJ Louden will join the Titans just in time for the 2024-25 season.

DETROIT (8/26/2024) -- School just started, but the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team added one more talented player to its roster in junior college transfer and former Weber State student-athlete JJ Louden (Indianapolis, Ind./Desert Valley Prep (NV).

Louden is eligible immediately and will have two years of collegiate ball left. He suited up for Weber State as a freshman and was at Tyler Junior College last season.

"JJ was a real find for us this late in the summer," said head coach Mark Montgomery. "He is a guard who can lead this offense and is good on the defensive side, and as a former Division I player, he is ready to compete at a high level."

The 6-5, 190-lb guard averaged 5.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 steals, playing in 30 games with 26 starts, last season. He netted double figures in four games, but tallied 13 games with at least three assists, including nine against Dallas College Brookhaven and eight versus Jacksonville College, where he also pulled down nine boards.

At Weber State, he saw action in six total games during the 2022-23 campaign.

He started his high school career at Pike High School in Indianapolis and finished at Desert Valley Prep in Las Vegas, where he posted 17.0 points, 12.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game.

Coach Montgomery now has a 16-man roster with 12 new Titans for the 2024-25 season.

Season tickets start at just $100. For more information on season tickets and ticket packages, contact Assistant Business & Ticket Manager Paige Zmudczynski '14 at 313-320-8873 or at zmudczpa@udmercy.edu
