Katie Burton streaking down the court, who connected on the game-winning buzzer-beating layup with .01 seconds on the clock giving Detroit Mercy a thrilling 54-52 win at Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon at the Klotsche Center. This is UDM's first road win at Milwaukee since Jan. 28, 2016, and the Titans are 12-5 overall to start the season for the first time in 28 years since the 1996-97 season.
The layup matched Burton's career-high with nine points while grabbing a career-best nine rebounds. Graduate student
Emaia O'Brien led all scorers with 18 points, on 6-for-11 shooting, 3-for-5 from 3-point range, and 3-for-4 from the free throw line.
McQueen had an off-scoring night with six points but had a solid all-around game, grabbing six rebounds while matching a career-best six assists and a career-best four blocks with three steals defensively.

Anna Lassan had three points off three free throws.
In the fourth quarter, Detroit Mercy (12-5, 6-3 HL) led 45-41 by the 4:54 media timeout. Milwaukee (4-16, 1-8 HL) battled back to tie the game at 50-50 with a minute left. Starks missed a layup but grabbed the ball from the Panther rebounder and put the ball back up and in to move UDM up 52-50. After Milwaukee tied the game at 52-52 off a layup, O'Brien missed a tough running layup, giving the ball back to the Panthers with 16.2 seconds left, setting the stage for McQueen and Burton's heroics.
In the first half, UDM held a 17-11 lead after the first quarter and a 30-23 lead at the break.
