Drew Pierson's free kick into the box created an own goal for Detroit Mercy as they took a 1-0 first-half lead. Despite their valiant effort, the Titans could not hold on, surrendering a second-half goal to fall 2-1 to Purdue Fort Wayne in #HLMSOC action on Halloween Night at Titan Field.

John Palomino also accounted for five shots out of Detroit Mercy's (5-10-2, 2-5-1 HL) 14 total for the match.
In the 14th minute, Pierson hit a free-kick cross into the box that was deflected on frame, where a Purdue Fort Wayne (7-2-5, 4-2-2 HL) defender tried to clear the ball and sent it into the back of the net, giving the Titans a 1-0 lead.
Just before the half in the 43rd minute, the Dons broke through with the equalizer to draw even at 1-1 going into the break.
Both teams played evenly to open the second half until PFW got the go-ahead goal in the 69th minute.
UDM continued to press the attack down the stretch and created many scoring chances, including two free kicks and two corner kicks during the last 10 minutes of the game, but couldn't put home the equalizer.
Detroit Mercy concludes the 2025 season at Milwaukee on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. ET
