DePaul Gets The Best Of The Titans In Sunday Affair

CHICAGO (11/23/2025) -- Two Titans scored in double figures, but DePaul went on a run in the second half and UDM could not recover as the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team fell, 95-75, on the road in Chicago on Sunday evening.

Sophomore TJ Nadeau led the Titans with 14 points with three rebounds, while junior Ayden Carter tallied 10 points, two rebounds, and an assist. Senior Orlando Lovejoy had eight points, two rebounds, two assists, and a steal, and senior Legend Geeter pulled down five rebounds.

Detroit Mercy (1-6) had an early 9-3 lead, with Nadeau scoring five and freshman Xavier Istomin-Monroe adding four, including the last offensive rebound and putback that gave UDM that four-point lead.

The game was then tied at 15-all as Lovejoy scored and sophomore Ryan Kalambay crashed the glass and added a layup for a 19-15 lead midway through the first.

DePaul (4-2) went on a 13-2 run, but Nadeau ended that with a triple to make it a 28-24 game at the 2:29 mark, and it was a 37-29 score at the break.

A three-point play by Carter to start the second half trimmed the deficit to five, 37-32, but DePaul then went on a 17-4 spurt and was able to keep the margin in the 20's after that.

Istomin-Monroe ended with a season-high eight points with three rebounds. Redshirt freshman Tyler Spratt added a season-tying eight points, and senior Jared Lary posted seven points.

The Titans were 16-of-19 (84.2%) at the line and outrebounded DePaul 33-30.

Detroit Mercy will have a few days off before getting back on the court on Saturday at Niagara.
