DETROIT (2/22/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team had an early lead, but Bellarmine went on a long run as the Titans saw the Knights take a 16-4 contest in Louisville on Saturday.
Senior Aidan Bishop scored two goals, while senior Nolan Graalman and Harold Skinner each had one.
Senior Ryan Richters made 10 saves and came away with three caused turnovers, while senior Sean Henige tallied a pair of caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Bellarmine (3-3) scored first, but the Titans (0-3) responded with four straight in the first period. Sophomore Sean Donahue found Graalman with the man up at 10:22 and a minute later, Graalman fed Bishop to make it 2-1. Later in the period, Skinner was able to beat the keeper and UDM took advantage of another man-up as senior Chase Mahabir set up Bishop for his second strike at the 1:12 mark.
From there, the Knights went on an offensive run, and the Titans could not get the momentum back.
Senior Billy Hart was 5-off-13 in faceoffs with three GB's. Senior Will Marshall had a caused turnover and four ground balls and junior Kyle Grant ended with a caused turnover and two ground balls.
The Titans were 19-of-20 on clears and saw Bellarmine commit 23 turnovers, while holding the Knights to 2-of-7 on the extra man.
Detroit Mercy will get back to action in two weeks when it visits Hampton on Mar. 7.
