UDM Looks To Make It Three In A Row At Furman On Wednesday

Freshman Julia Stanley and the Titans will be on the hunt for a three-game winning streak.
DETROIT (3/4/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team will look to stay hot on spring break as the Titans travel to Furman for a Wednesday night clash.

Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at Paladin Stadium and will feature live stats, but no live broadcast.

Detroit Mercy is 2-2 on the season and is looking to go over the .500 mark for the first time since they ended the 2018 season at 10-8. The Titans will also look to win two straight non-conference road games for the first time since 2018, as they are coming off a 13-8 win at Kennesaw State and a 12-7 tally at home over Canisius.

Senior Leah Bodnar led the way with four goals and an assist and now has five goals in the last two games. Senior Maddy Camm leads the team with 10 points, seven goals, and 15 draw controls, while freshmen Jaeda Jensen, Tunie Mullen, and junior Alyssa Jarvis all have four goals.

Senior Katie Bilello tops the team with six caused turnovers, and senior Meredith Leavell is still among the leaders in the nation with 59 saves, 14.75 saves per game, and a .551 save percentage.

Furman is 4-0 on the year and is coming off a 20-4 win at home over Mercyhurst. Just a few weeks ago, they defeated Kennesaw State, 15-11, on the road.

After the game, the Titans will stay in the Greenville, South Carolina, area as they take on Presbyterian on Friday.

HONOR THY CAPTAIN
  • Seniors Maddy Camm, Sophie Davis, and junior Alyssa Jarvis will be honored to wear the "C" this season.
  • "Their leadership, dedication, and passion set the tone for the entire team, and we're confident they'll guide us to something special this year," said head coach Alexa Matta.

WHAT A WIN MEANS
  • The Titans are 2-2 to start the year and are looking for a victory, giving UDM its best record ever through five games.
  • A win would also give Detroit Mercy its first winning record since ending the 2018 campaign at 10-8.
  • It would also give the Titans two straight non-conference road wins for just the fourth time in school history and the first since the 2018 season.

VS. FURMAN

  • The teams have split the six games in the series, as five of the six games have been decided by four goals or less.
  • Detroit Mercy is also 1-2 on the road in the match-up.
