DETROIT (3-6-25) - The senior class left it all out on the court as Graduate students

Jasmine Edwards and senior
Katie Burton combined for 44 total points as No. 6 Detroit Mercy saw it's impressive 2024-25 season come to an end with a 92-61 setback at No. 3 Cleveland State in 2025 Barbasol #HLWBB Championship quarterfinal action on Thursday night at the Wolstein Center.
O'Brien closed out her standout career finishing with a team-high 22 points on 7-for-13 shooting, 6-7 from the free throw line with two 3-pointers while Edwards posted a Titan career-high 13 points going 5-for-7 from the charity stripe with four boards. Burton added nine points shooting 3-for-5 from the floor, 1-for-2 from 3-point range and 2-2 from the free throw line.
Sophomore
Makayla Jackson added five points while junior
Myonna Hooper chipped in with four points.
Buckets were hard to come by to open the game as Detroit Mercy (15-15) took a 4-3 lead and only trailed Cleveland State (24-8) 8-4 by the first media timeout. However, CSU's offense came alive, outscoring the Titans 12-4 down the stretch to take a 20-8 lead and never looked back.
UDM was outscored 19-13 in the second quarter to trail by 18 points, 39-21, at the break.
The Vikings ended any chance of a Titan comeback in the third quarter, scoring 29 points shooting a blistering 11-for-18 (61.1%) to take a commanding 68-39 lead to seal the deal.
The Titans battled hard in the fourth quarter, posting 22 points.
