Mahabir, Thundercloud Honored By NEC

Chase Mahabir (L) and Marcus Thundercloud (R) were honored by the MAC.
BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (4/21/2025) -- The Titans stayed alive for the postseason thanks to two outstanding offensive performances, and for that, senior Chase Mahabir and redshirt freshman Marcus Thundercloud were honored by the Northeast Conference.

Mahabir was named the NEC Player of the Week for the second straight week, while Thundercloud received his third Rookie of the Week accolade.

Mahabir tallied five goals against Mercyhurst, his fourth hat trick of the season. Not only did he score five goals, but he also netted the last three, one with the man down and the other with the shot clock under 10, and with 47 seconds left, that ended up being the game-winner.

Thundercloud posted his third hat trick of the year with four goals in the contest. He scored two goals in the first period, and the next two tied the game in the third, as UDM never left after that.

Mahabir now leads the team with 27 points, 19 goals and eight assists, with 16 of his 19 markers coming in NEC play. Thundercloud is second on the squad with 18 points and 17 goals, including 15 goals and 16 points in conference action.

Detroit Mercy will be on the road at Cleveland State on Saturday evening, knowing that a fourth straight win would clinch a playoff spot.
