Thundercloud Earns Second Straight NEC Honor

Redshirt freshman Marcus Thundercloud was honored by the NEC again.

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (4/7/2025) -- A come-from-behind performance and a great effort led to a win and another award as University of Detroit Mercy redshirt freshman Marcus Thundercloud was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the second straight week.

Thundercloud put together another hat trick, ending with three goals and four points, but his last goal was memorable as he beat a double team and fired in the game-winner in overtime at VMI. UDM was down 9-4 in the fourth, but he started a 6-0 run with a goal and put the finishing touches on the 10-9 victory.

Thundercloud has recorded 11 goals and 12 points in his last four games.

Detroit Mercy will return to action on Saturday, Apr. 12, as the red, white, and blue host Wagner at Noon.
