McKenzie, 4x100 Come Away With Medals As #HLTF Championships Conclude

Junior Jaden McKenzie earned runner-up in the 400-meters with a PR.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (5/11/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team ended the Horizon League Outdoor Championships with a pair of medals on Sunday.

Junior Jaden McKenzie posted a runner-up effort in the 400-meters with a career-best 47.87, fifth in school history.

He was also part of a bronze finish as he teamed with sophomore Nicholas Johnson and freshmen James Wallace and John Almeda to clock a 41.90 time, the ninth fastest in school history, and with Almeda, Johnson and senior Ashwin Philip to take seventh in the 4x400 in 3:21.71.

Wallace also claimed fifth in the 100m in a season-best 10.53, the second-best time in school history.

Freshman Andrew Drakos ran 55.55 to earn sixth in the 400-meter hurdles, while sophomore Joshua Neary was seventh in 57.56.

As a team, the Titans totaled 38 points for seventh place as the event officially ended the outdoor campaign.
