Four Titans To Compete In 20th Annual Moneyball Pro-Am League

Sophomore Nate Johnson will be one of the four Titans in the Moneyball Pro-Am League.
DETROIT (6/25/2025) -- Summer practice is underway, and a few Titans will get some extra time on the court as four University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team members will suit up in the 20th edition of the Moneyball Pro-Am League.

Sophomore Nate Johnson and transfer Tyler Spratt will be playing for Case Credit Union, while freshmen Lance Stone and Zak Abdalla are on Snipes.

The league started this week and will conclude in the final week of July, with most games played at Holt High School. The games are set for every Tuesday and Thursday.

The Moneyball Pro-Am League is run by Titan alum Desmond Ferguson '00. He played his freshman year of college basketball at Missouri before transferring to Detroit Mercy and helping the Titans to some of their best years in school history. During his tenure, the Titans won a Horizon League Championship and earned two appearances in the NCAA Tournament, defeating St. John's in 1998 and UCLA in 1999 in the opening round.

The two-time Horizon League All-Tournament selection tallied 1,113 points and 235 career triples, first in school history when he graduated and currently third in the record book. As a senior, he was second on the team, averaging 14.0 points and 5.1 rebounds, while leading the conference with 82 treys.

He played overseas and in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers, appearing in seven games during the 2003-04 season.
