Geeter, Spratt Net Career Highs In #MetroSeries Setback

DETROIT (1/24/2026) -- Senior Legend Geeter and redshirt freshman Tyler Spratt each tallied career highs, but one last comeback attempt came up short as the Titans fell, 95-87, to #MetroSeries-rival Oakland at home on Saturday.

Geeter posted 24 points with nine rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal, while Spratt registered 21 points with six boards and three assists. Sophomore TJ Nadeau scored 17 points, and sophomore Ryan Kalambay had eight points and a career-tying 11 rebounds.

It was back and forth early on as the Titans (8-12, 5-6 HL) had the lead on a couple of occasions, including 20-19 as senior Jared Lary nailed a three at the 13:39 mark.

The Golden Grizzlies (12-10, 8-3 HL) would jump back in front by seven, 29-22, midway through the period, but Geeter had a layup, and Spratt rang in a three. Later on, a bucket from Geeter and a 3-pointer by Spratt tied the game at 36-36 with 4:07 left.

Geeter also gave the Titans a 42-41 lead with a layup at 2:02, and UDM led 45-43 after Geeter knocked in a three with 1:29 on the clock, but Oakland would take a 46-45 lead at the break.

In the second half, Detroit Mercy jumped back in front, 54-53, as senior Orlando Lovejoy went inside for a basket and Nadeau drained one from the outside with 13:34 remaining.

Oakland would reclaim the lead with an 11-2 run and eventually opened a 10-point advantage, 71-61, with 8:03 left.

UDM would chip away and pull within four on a couple of occasions, the latest at 82-78 with 4:19 left, but the red, white, and blue could not pull out the come-from-behind win.

Lovejoy finished with eight points, six assists, three rebounds, and a steal, and freshman Lance Stone tied his season-high with seven assists and scored six points

The Titans shot 50.0% from the field (34-of-68), made a season-high 11 triples, and tied a season-best with 23 assists, but were just 8-of-8 at the free-throw line.

Detroit Mercy will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 30, when the Titans host NKU.
