DETROIT (12-31-26) – The Detroit Mercy women's basketball team returns home with a pair of #HLWBB games against Milwaukee and defending HL champion Green Bay. The Titans and Panthers tip off on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m., followed by the Phoenix on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live from Dick Vitale Court at Calihan Hall on ESPN+ with Denny Kapp (play-by-play) and Tara Fricke (analyst) on the call.

A Look at the Panthers:
• Milwaukee is 1-4 in #HLWBB play and 5-11 overall, following a 66-58 win over CSU.
• Junior forward Jorey Buwalda leads the team in scoring (13.3 ppg – 5th HL), rebounds per game (9.3 – 1st HL), and assists per game (1.5).
 
All-Time Series:
• Milwaukee leads the all-time series 37-32 with the Titans winning all three meetings last season.
• UDM's 54-52 last-second win last season back on Jan. 18 was the Titans' first road win at Milwaukee since an 89-79 decision on Jan. 28, 2016 and gave the Titans their first 6-3 mark to start #HLWBB play since the 2016-17 season and first 12-5 record to start the season in 28 years since the 1996-97 season.

Game 14 - Detroit Mercy 57 at Northern Kentucky 75 - Jan. 4, 2026:
Graduate student Nisea Burrell was the only player to reach double figures, scoring 13 points on 4-for-8 shooting and 4-for-5 from the free throw line as Detroit Mercy fell 75-57 at Northern Michigan on Sunday afternoon at Truist Arena.
 
Sophomore Addisen Mastriano had nine points with four rebounds, followed by sophomore May Anderson with eight points, going 4-for-5 from the charity stripe. Graduate student Jasmine Edwards had six points while grabbing a team-best seven rebounds, while graduate student Aaliyah McQueen also had six points, going 2-for-2 from long range with three blocks, just missing her career-high by one. Graduate student and NKU transfer Kailee Davis added a season-high five points in her return against her former team. Freshman Naïma Diawara and sophomore Anna Lassan chipped in with four points each.
 
Turnovers once again proved to be the Achilles Heel for Detroit Mercy (4-10, 2-3 HL) as they had 22, leading to 23 Northern Kentucky (6-11, 3-3 HL) points compared to six points off turnover for the Titans. UDM's offense also struggled in the second and third quarters, scoring a combined 17 points, which the Norse capitalized on with a big run to take a large lead.

• Detroit Mercy ranks fifth in the Horizon League in rebounds per game (35.9) and fourth in offensive rebounds per game (11.4).

• Although Graduate student Aaliyah McQueen, known to the team as "Q", leads the team in 3-pointers made (15), and is finding other ways to contribute on both ends of the court despite her scoring being down.
• She leads in assists per game (2.0), total blocks (10), and ranks second in rebounds per game (5.1).
 
McQueen Earns All-Tournament Team Honors:
• Graduate student Aaliyah McQueen almost averaged a double-double with 13.5 ppg and 9.0 rebounds per game, along with 4.0 assists per game and 3.5 steals per game defensively, earning All-Tournament Team honors after leading Detroit Mercy to a 1-1 mark at the Tulane Holiday Tournament.
• Scored 13 points with eight boards, five assists, three steals, and a block in UDM's setback to Mercer.
• Posted her second double-double of the season, scoring 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds with three assists and four steals to lead the Titans to a win over Delaware State.

Game 13 - Detroit Mercy 71 at Wright State 82 - Jan. 2, 2026:
Graduate Student Jasmine Edwards delivered another impressive performance, scoring a Titan career-high 21 points on 7-for-9 shooting and 7-for-11 from the free throw line with eight rebounds as Detroit Mercy battled, but fell 82-71 due to a late fourth quarter run at Wright State on Friday night at the Nutter Center.
 
Graduate student Nisea Burrell just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds, while senior Myonna Hooper and junior Makayla Jackson also scored nine points each. Freshman Naïma Diawara and sophomore Addisen Mastriano each chipped in with eight points, while graduate student Kailee Davis scored her first Titan points, connecting on a 3-pointer.
 
Detroit Mercy (4-9, 2-2 HL) dominated the glass 40-27, with 13 offensive boards leading to a 12-4 second-chance advantage. Both teams were even with 42 points in the paint. However, turnovers proved to be the difference in the game as Wright State (6-10, 2-3 HL) got 23 points off 21 UDM turnovers while the Titans had 11 points off 11 CSU turnovers.
 
Game 12 - Detroit Mercy 80 vs Rochester Christian 86 - Dec. 29, 2025:
Detroit Mercy had a season-best five players in double figures, led by junior Makayla Jackson, who had a game-high 23 points with a career-best seven rebounds, while graduate student Jasmine Edwards posted her second Titan career double-double with 14 points on 7-for-10 shooting and a Titan-best 15 rebounds as UDM's fourth quarter rally came up short in an 86-80 setback to Rochester Christian on Monday afternoon at Calihan Hall.
 
Senior Myonna Hooper added 10 points while dishing out a career-high eight assists. Sophomore Maya Anderson matched a career-best 11 points and six rebounds, while Addisen Mastriano was the fifth player in double figures with 10 points. Freshman Naïma Diawara also chipped in with six points. Detroit Mercy (4-8) dished out a season-best 18 assists on 34 made baskets for their highest scoring output of the season.
 
Game 11 - Detroit Mercy 59 vs Delaware State 46 - Dec. 21, 2025:
Graduate student and Tulane Holiday All-Tournament Team selection Aaliyah McQueen posted her second double-double of the season, scoring 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds with three assists and four steals as Detroit Mercys' huge second quarter propelled the Titans to a 59-46 win in Consolation Game action on Sunday afternoon at the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
 
Junior Makayla Jackson was the other player in double figures with 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting with three boards and two steals. Freshman Naïma Diawara added a career-high nine points, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line while matching a career-best six rebounds in her second consecutive start.

Game 10 - Detroit Mercy 55 vs Mercer 66 - Dec. 20, 2025:
Graduate student Jasmine Edwards posted her first career double-double in a Titan uniform scoring 13 points on 6-for-10 shooting with 10 rebounds, while graduate student Aaliyah McQueen also had 13 points with eight boards, five assists, three steals and a block as Detroit Mercy came up short to Mercer, 64-55, at the Tulane Holiday Tournament on Saturday afternoon at the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
 
Senior Myonna Hooper was the third player to reach double figures with 11 points for Detroit Mercy (3-7). Sophomores Addisen Mastriano and Maya Anderson chipped in with nine and seven points, respectively. Game 9 - Detroit Mercy 52 at Robert Morris 60 - Dec. 16, 2025:
Senior Myonna Hooper scored a team-high 13 points, while junior Makayla Jackson added 12 points and grabbed a career-high six steals as Detroit Mercy came up short, 60-52, in a defensive battle at Robert Morris to drop their first #HLWBB contest of the season. The Titans posted a season-high 14 steals, getting 20 points off of 22 RMU turnovers while holding the Colonials without a 3-point field goal (0-for-9) for the first time since 2020.
 
Detroit Mercy (3-6, 2-1 HL) had two other players just miss double figures as graduate Student Nisea Burrell had nine points with three rebounds and three assists, while sophomore Maya Anderson also had nine points, going 4-for-6 from the free throw line. Freshman Naïma Diawara added five points, connecting on her second 3-pointer of the season, while freshman Rayven McQueen saw her first action of the season, hauling in five rebounds with two points. Graduate student Jasmine Edwards grabbed a team-best six boards.
 
Detroit Mercy Outlasts IU Indy Moving to 2-0 in #HLWBB Play for Third Consecutive Season
Game 8 - Detroit Mercy 74 vs IU Indy 69 - Dec. 7, 2025:
For the second straight game, Detroit Mercy placed four players in double figures, led by graduate student Jasmine Edwards, who posted 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting, while junior Makayla Jackson also scored 16 points on 6-for-15 shooting with seven boards and three assists as the Titans outlasted IU Indy, 74-69, on Sunday afternoon at Calihan Hall. With the win, the Titans moved to 2-0 in #HLWBB play for the third consecutive season.
 
Graduate student Nisea Burrell scored 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting with six rebounds and a team-high three steals, while graduate student Aaliyah McQueen also had 13 points with four boards, a steal, and a block.  Freshman Naïma Diawara had a breakout all-around game, scoring eight points on 3-of-6 shooting with three assists, two rebounds, and a pair of steals, while sophomore Anna Lassan chipped in with six points.
 
Detroit Mercy (3-5, 2-0 HL) dominated the glass, grabbing 16 offensive rebounds, which led to a 19-5 second-chance points advantage over IU Indy (3-6, 0-2 HL) while scoring 44 points in the paint, which proved to be the difference in the game.
 
Mastriano Drops Career-High 18 Points as Detroit Mercy Stuns Cleveland State in #HLWBB Opener
Game 7 - Detroit Mercy 76 vs Cleveland State 68 - Dec. 4, 2025:
Sophomore Addisen Mastriano delivered a dominating performance, posting a career-high 18 points, shooting a blistering 8-for-10 from the field and 1-for-2 from 3-point range with a rebound and a steal in just 21 minutes to lead Detroit Mercy to a stunning 76-68 win over Cleveland State in #HLWBB opening action on Thursday night at Calihan Hall.
 
With the win, the Titans (2-5, 1-0 HL) snapped a three-game against CSU (7-2, 0-1 HL) and won their third consecutive #HLWBB opener. For the game, UDM shot a season-best 58.7% (27-for-46) and dished out a season-second-best 13 assists on those 27 made baskets. The Titans had three other players reach double figures in senior Myonna Hooper with 12 points on 3-for-5 shooting, 2-for-4 from long distance, and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line with three assists, followed by graduate student Jasmine Edwards, who just missed a double-double with 10 points and a team-best nine rebounds. Junior Makayla Jackson added 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting with three dimes. For the second consecutive game, graduate student Nisea Burrell scored in double figures with a team-best and Titan career-high 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting, while junior Makayla Jackson added 14 points, going 6-for-13 with three steals as Detroit Mercy's second-half rally came up short in a 64-55 setback to Eastern Michigan on Sunday afternoon at Calihan Hall. Graduate student Jasmine Edwards was the third Titan in double figures with 11 points, going 5-for-6 from the free throw line with four boards, a steal, and a block. Graduate student Aaliyah McQueen chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, four steals, and two blocks.
 
Game 5 - Detroit Mercy 53 vs No. 6 Michigan 102 - Nov. 26, 2025:
Graduate student Nisea Burrell scored a Titan career-best 13 points on 3-for-6 shooting and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line, while sophomore Maya Anderson added a career-high 11 points, going 5-for-6 from the charity stripe as Detroit Mercy fell 102-53 to No. 6 Michigan on Wednesday evening at Calihan Hall. UDM shot a season-best 21-for-25 (84.0%) from the free throw line.
 
Sophomore Anna Lassan chipped in with seven points, going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line with a team-high five rebounds, while junior Makayla Jackson had six points, going 2-for-2 from the foul line. Freshman Naïma Diawara connected on her first career triple while Aaliyah McQueen dished out four assists.
 
Game 4 - Detroit Mercy 63 at Wisconsin 81 - Nov. 23, 2025:
Detroit Mercy had three players in double figures, led by junior Makayla Jackson, who posted a team-high 14 points while matching a career-best five steals defensively as the Titans hung tough with Wisconsin in an 81-63 setback on the Kohl Center on Sunday afternoon. Graduate student Aaliyah McQueen added 12 points with two steals, while graduate student Nisea Burrell scored a Titan career-high 10 points with two assists, two steals, and three boards.
 
Sophomore Maya Anderson just missed reaching double figures with nine points and four rebounds, while freshman Naïma Diawara had a breakout performance with a season-high seven points and a team-best six boards.
 
Detroit Mercy (1-3) recorded 11 steals for the second consecutive game and caused 19 Wisconsin (6-1) turnovers. The Titans were aggressive on the offensive end, taking the ball to the basket and getting to the free-throw line, where they made 17-of-25 attempts (68%) compared to 7-of-12 (58.3%) for the Badgers.
 
3-point shooting proved to be the difference as Wisconsin shot 12-for-27 (44.4%), including 5-for-6 in the fourth quarter, while UDM went 4-for-21 from long range.
 
Game 3 - Detroit Mercy 54 vs Central Michigan 87 - Nov. 19, 2025:
Graduate student Jasmine Edwards continued her stellar start to the season, reaching double digits for the third straight game, scoring a team-high 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line with eight rebounds as Detroit Mercy has no answer for Central Michigan's hot shooting from the field in a 87-54 setback on Wednesday night at Calihan Hall.
 
Junior Makayla Jackson had seven points while senior Myonna Hooper also added seven points, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe. Graduate student Nisea Burrell chipped in with six points while dishing a team-high four assists with two steals. Sophomore Anna Lassan also added six points.
 
For the game, Central Michigan (3-1) shot a blistering 13-for-25 (52.0%) from long range while going 33-for-61 (54.1%) overall and 8-for-10 from the free throw line (8-for-10). Conversely, Detroit Mercy (1-2) struggled, only shooting 18-for-64 (28.1%) from the field and 3-for-15 (20.0%) from 3-point range. The Titans did shoot a season-best 15-for-21 (71.4%) from the free-throw line.
 
Game 2 - Detroit Mercy 52 at Toledo 66 - Nov. 16, 2025:
For the second straight game, graduate student Jasmine Edwards led Detroit Mercy in scoring with 16 points on 7-for-8 shooting with six rebounds as the Titans shot 56.8% (21-for-37) from the field and 50.0 % from 3-point range (3-for-6) but couldn't get over the hump with a 66-52 setback at Toledo on Sunday afternoon at Savage Arena.
 
Three Titans (1-1) had seven points in graduate student Nisea Burrell, sophomore Anna Lassan, senior Myonna Hooper, and sophomore Maya Anderson. Junior Brendha Schwartz chipped in with four points, while graduate student Aaliyah McQueen and freshman Naïma Diawara each had two points.
 
Despite Detroit Mercy's hot shooting from the floor and long range, Toledo (1-2) had 26 points off 22 Titan turnovers and went 18-for-26 (69.2%) from the free throw line compared to 7-for-17 (41.2%) for UDM, which proved to be the difference.
 
Detroit Mercy Rolls Past Beacons in Second Half to Secure Haffey's First Titan Win
Game 1 - Detroit Mercy 78 vs Valparaiso 48 - Nov. 8, 2025:
Graduate student Jasmine Edwards posted a Titan career-high 19 points on 8-for-11shooting with seven rebounds and two assists, while graduate student Aaliyah McQueen added a double-double with 15 points, a Titan career-best 16 rebounds, and two dimes to lead Detroit Mercy to a 78-48 season-opening win over Valparaiso on Saturday afternoon at Calihan Hall. This also marked the first Titan victory for Head Coach Kiefer Haffey.
 
Junior Makayla Jackson scored 16 points with four boards, while sophomore Maya Anderson was the fourth player in double figures, adding a career-high 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Senior Myonna Hooper chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Sophomore Addisen Mastriano had six points, draining her first two career triples, while graduate student Nisea Burrell had three points, three rebounds, and three steals in her Titan debut.

For the third consecutive season, Mercy hosted Lawrence Tech as part of Field Trip Day, where the Titans welcomed students from multiple grade schools in the Metro Detroit area as a way to give back to the community.
