DETROIT (2-22-25) – Five Detroit Mercy student-athletes earned Central Collegiate Fencing Championships (CCFC) honors led by junior Arturo Rangel (Epee) led the way for the Detroit Mercy men's fencing team with a fourth-place individual finish earning Men's Epee Second-Team Honors, while senior Shana Dupin (Foil) placed ninth on the women's side earning Women's Foil Honorable Mention at the 2026 CCFC Championships hosted by Denison at the Mitchell Athletic Center. Freshman Darick Galcia placed 10th, earning Men's Foil First-Team Honors, while junior Nathan Mysiorek earned Men's Sabre Second-Team Honors, finishing eighth. Sophomore Sophia Baez was also named Women's Sabre Honorable Mention.  
 
Meet Highlights:
• Rangel went 4-2 in pool play to advance for a fourth-place finish.
• Mysiorek also went 4-2 in pool play to advance for an eighth-place finish.
• Dupin posted a 2-4 mark in pool play for a ninth-place finish.
• The women's Sabre team posted 5-4 wins over Lawrence and Wayne State.
