Jasmine Edwards, Nisea Burrell, and Anna Lassan named to 2025-26 Academic All-District ® Team

GREENWOOD, IND. (3-24-26) – Three Detroit Mercy women's basketball student-athletes, graduate students Jasmine Edwards and Nisea Burrell, and sophomore Anna Lassan were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic (CSC) 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team. This marks the second consecutive season Edwards has earned CSC Academic All-District honors.
 
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA — for each gender.

Edwards

Major: Business Leadership and Change Management
 
2025-26 Highlights:
• Two-time Horizon League Fall and Spring Honor Roll selection and Detroit Mercy Athletic Director Honor Roll selection.
• Played in all 31 games with 30 starts.
• Reached double figures in 22 games.
• Led the team in double-doubles (10).
• Also led the team in field goal percentage (53.1), scoring (11.9 ppg –13th HL), rebounds per game (8.4 – 3rd HL), and blocks (13).
• Ranks second in total steals (35).
• Hauled in 10+ rebounds in 12 games, including four straight games (1/8 MKE – 1/18 OU) with a Titan career-high 15 against Rochester
Christian (12/29).
• Recorded 14 boards in three games.
• Also grabbed nine boards in one game and eight in four games.
• Closed out her amazing final season in a Detroit Mercy uniform, posting her 10th double-double, scoring a team-high 17 points on 8-for-15 shooting, connecting on her first Titan career 3-pointer, while grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds at No. 1 Green Bay in the 2026 Barbasol #HLWBB Championship first round (3/4).
• Scored 17 points shooting 6-for-12 from the field with seven rebounds in UDM's thrilling 69-67 play-in game win at No. 10 seed Milwaukee in 2026 Barbasol #HLWBB Championship (3/2).
• Led the way, scoring a new Titan career-high 24 points on 8-for-13 shooting with six rebounds in Senior Day win over NKU (2/28).
• Posted her second consecutive double-double (ninth overall) with 11 points and 12 rebounds at YSU (2/25).
• Recorded eighth double-double with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting with 10 rebounds at IU Indy (2/22).
• Posted second straight double-double (seventh overall), pouring in a new Titan career-high 22 points on 10-for-13 shooting while grabbing 14 rebounds vs WSU (2/12).
• Recorded sixth double-double of the season and second against the Golden Grizzlies with 11 points on 5-for-10 shooting and a game-high 14 boards with five steals, just missing her career-high by one, leading Detroit Mercy to a thrilling 72-69 Metro Series road win at arch-rival Oakland (2/7) for the first time since 2017. The win also snapped an 11-game skid for the Titans.
• Posted fifth double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while adding three assists and two steals vs Oakland (1/18), marking the fourth consecutive game she has grabbed 10-plus rebounds.
• Posted second consecutive double-double (fourth of the season) with 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting and 4-for-5 from the free throw line with a game-high 12 rebounds vs GB (1/10).
• Add third double-double with 15 points on 6-for-14 shooting and 14 rebounds with season-high three steals vs MKE (1/8).
• Recorded second career double-double with 14 points on 7-for-10 shooting and a Titan-best 15 rebounds vs Rochester Christian
(12/29).
• Recorded first career double-double in a Titan uniform, scoring 13 points on 6-for-10 shooting with 10 rebounds vs Mercer (12/20).
 
Burrell

Major: Business Fundamentals Certificate & MS Ethical Leadership
 
2025-26 Highlights:
• Horizon League Fall and Spring Honor Roll selection and Detroit Mercy Athletic Director Honor Roll selection.
• Started in 19 of 28 games played.
• Reached double figures in seven games.
• Lead the team in assists (58) and assists per game (2.1 – 20th HL), and free throw percentage (67.0 - 13th HL), ranked third in field goal percentage (37.9), and fourth in steals per game (1.0).
• Added nine points in #HLWBB Tournament play-in game win at No. 10 MKE (3/2).
• Had seven points and seven rebounds in Senior Day win over NKU (2/28).
• Scored a season second-best 14 points on 6-for-8 from the free throw line with six rebounds at Green Bay (1/24).
• Only player to reach double figures, scoring 13 points on 4-for-8 shooting and 4-for-5 from the free throw line at NKU (1/4).
• Just missed a double-double with nine points and a career-best nine rebounds at WSU (1/2).
• Posted 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting with six rebounds and a team-high three steals vs IU Indy (12/7).
• Scored in double figures with a team-best and Titan career-high 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting vs EMU (11/30).
• Scored 13 points on 3-for-6 shooting and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line with two steals against No. 6 Michigan (11/26).

• Saw action in 28 games with 15 starts.
• Ranks fifth on the team in total rebounds (94) and fourth in offensive rebounds (32).
• Chipped in with eight points, including back-to-back clutch buckets in the fourth quarter in #HLWBB Tournament play-in game win at No. 10 MKE (3/2).
• Posted a career-high 11 points, going 4-for-9 and 1-for-2 from 3-point range vs PFW (2/14).
• Scored 10 points off the bench, going 5-for-6 from the field at PFW (2/1).
• Added eight points with four boards in #HLWBB opening win over CSU (12/4).
• Chipped in with seven points, and a career-best perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line with a team-high five rebounds vs No. 6 Michigan (11/26).
• Scored seven points in fourth career start at Toledo (11/16).
• Made third career start with four boards, two steals, and two assists in win vs Valpo (11/8).
