CINCINNATI (3/4/2026) -- Freshman
Morgan Stamatakis scored her first collegiate goal, but the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team was not able to hold off the weather and the Musketeers as the Titans fell, 16-2, to Jesuit-rival Xavier on Wednesday.
The game was delayed almost an hour near the end of the first half due to lightning.Â
Senior
Alyssa Jarvis had a goal and an assist. Freshman
Lillie Peshek pulled down eight draw controls and had an assist and a ground ball, while redshirt freshman
Ava Bandi had a takeaway and a GB.
Redshirt freshman
Emily Coyne got the start and made five saves, while sophomore
Kaitlynn Hedrick had six in the second half.
UDM (0-4) got on the board first as Jarvis found Stamatakis, and she buried one just a few minutes into the game. In the second, Jarvis took a pass from Peshek and cut the deficit to 5-2.
Right before the half ended, there was a lightning delay, but when play resumed, the red, white and blue were just not able to get the offense going.
The Titans will stay on the road as they travel to Lindenwood on Saturday.Â
