COLUMBUS, Ohio (2/27/2026) -- Freshman
Alison Smiley had another multi-goal game as the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team had a tough 22-4 decision at Ohio State on Friday afternoon.
Smiley had her two goals on the women-up opportunity. Senior
Libby Cuckler had a goal, assist, and two caused turnovers, while senior
Alyssa Jarvis finished with three assists, three draw controls and two ground balls.
Freshman
Chloe Sheader scored the first marker in the second period off a pass from Cuckler.
Cuckler added her goal in the third as she took a pass from Jarvis and beat the OSU defense to get in front of the cage, firing one in the back of the net.
Smiley then had her two strikes in the fourth, taking advantage of a couple of cards on the Buckeyes.
Redshirt freshman
Emily Coyne started and made two saves in net, while sophomore
Kaitlynn Hedrick made one coming off the bench.
Detroit Mercy will be back in action on Wednesday when it heads to Xavier.
