Freshman Dylan Belliveau and the Titans will look for a Saturday night win.
DETROIT (4/8/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team will entertain its fans under the lights at Titan Field as the Titans host Cleveland State on Saturday night.

Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. on campus, and the game will be broadcast live on the Titans Sports Network on YouTube.

This is just the fifth home night game in school history and the third ever at Titan Field. Last season, Detroit Mercy downed Mercyhurst, 14-13, while the first-ever home game on campus was a 16-13 loss to Robert Morris in 2020.

UDM was edged at Le Moyne last week, 6-4, squandering a 4-2 third-period lead. Sophomore Andrew Parker leads the team with 21 points and 17 goals, while senior Kyle Grant tops the team with 20 caused turnovers and tied for second with 28 ground balls.

Cleveland State is 5-5 on the year and 3-1 in the NEC. The Vikings have won two in a row, 20-7 at VMI and 10-9 at home over Wagner.

ALL-TIME SERIES
  • Cleveland State leads the all-time series, 4-3, although last year, UDM routed CSU on the road, 15-4.
  • UDM is 2-1 at home, but the Vikings won their last visit to the Motor City in 2024.

UNDER THE LIGHTS
  • This will be just the fifth home night game in school history and the third ever at Titan Field.
  • UDM hosted Michigan indoors at Ultimate Soccer Arena in 2014, Robert Morris on Titan Field in 2020, Cleveland State at Seaholm High School in 2022, and Mercyhurst on campus last season. 
  • Detroit Mercy is 2-2 in those affairs, downing Mercyhurst, 14-13, last season and Cleveland State, 13-12, in 2022.

WE COME FROM ALL OVER
  • The Titans recruit nationally - witnessed by 14 states plus Canada on their 43-man roster.
  • The most come from Michigan with 13 student-athletes, while Minnesota (5), Ohio (4), Wisconsin (3), California (1), Connecticut (1), Colorado(1), Florida(1), Georgia (1), Illinois (1), Kentucky (1), Nevada (1),  North Carolina (1) and Washington(1) all have Titans on the squad.
  • Internationally, UDM has seven from Canadian provinces in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Prince Edward Island.

ACADEMIC PRIDE
  • Detroit Mercy saw 34 men's lacrosse student-athletes earn their way onto the 2025 Athletic Director's Honor Roll for having at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • In addition, the team posted a 3.34 GPA in the first semester, with 20 garnering at least a 3.5, and three achieving a perfect 4.0.

SOME HIGH RANKINGS
  • The Titans rank first in the NEC and ninth nationally with 13.8 saves per game. 
  • They are also second in ground balls (29.9), third in clearing (.847), faceoff percentage (.504), man-up offense (.400), and fourth in caused turnovers (8.1).

STARTING THE OFFENSE
  • Sophomore Canton Lanham continues to make his way into the Titan history books and is now second in school history in faceoff winning percentage (52.3%) and fourth in total wins with 219. 
  • He already has a career-high 110 wins and 58 ground balls on the year, leading the NEC and ranking 25th in DI with 5.8 ground balls per game, and second in the league and 32nd in the nation in winning percentage at 55.3%.
  • He won 17-of-20 with seven ground balls at Wagner, his fifth game of the year with double-digit victories, and that came after a 10-of-19 effort with five GB's at RMU.
  • He claimed 13-of-25 and picked up nine ground balls at Jacksonville and was 15-of-23 with six ground balls against Bellarmine.
  • He posted a career game, taking a career-high 21-of-28 and picking up a career-best 13 ground balls at Hampton. 
  • The GBs are tied for second in school history, while the 21 wins tied for fourth. 
  • A member of the NEC All-Rookie Team, he ended his rookie year with 109 faceoff wins, the second most by a freshman and the fourth most in school history.

THUNDER STRIKES
  • Redshirt sophomore Marcus Thundercloud - who has scored a goal in four games and registered a point in seven - is currently tied for second on the squad with 18 points, first with 11 assists, and third with seven goals.
  • He currently ranks fifth in the league with 1.10 assists per game. 
  • He had a career performance with seven points on three goals and a career-best four assists at Hampton for his fifth career hat trick. 
  • To start NEC play, Thundercloud had two goals and an assist at Robert Morris and handed out three assists at Wagner.  
  • He had an outstanding rookie season, earning NEC Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-NEC honors.
  • Despite missing three games with a hand injury, he was second on the team with 22 goals - 10th in the NEC - and tied for second with 24 points. 
  • Thundercloud scored a goal in eight of his 10 games, with multi-goal games in seven contests and four hat tricks. Also, 19 of his 22 goals were in conference action.
  • Thundercloud missed his freshman year with a knee injury. 

GET BY ME
  • Senior Kyle Grant has picked up right where he left off last year, tallying a caused turnover in nine games - five with multiple takeaways - as well as at least two ground balls in nine of the 10. 
  • He is third in the NEC and 19th in the country with 1.9 caused turnovers per game, and 12th in the conference with 2.8 ground balls per game. 
  • Grant is seventh in school history with 57 caused turnovers. He is also approaching 100 career ground balls, standing at 96.
  • He tallied two CT's and three GB's against LIU, and had a caused turnover and three ground balls at Robert Morris and at Wagner. 
  • He was named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 16 after registering four takeaways and three GB's at #18 Michigan, and then tying his career-high with six caused turnovers and four more ground balls in the win at Hampton.
  • At #10 Ohio State, he had four ground balls, two caused turnovers, and his second career goal, and added another goal with a caused turnover and three GB's against Bellarmine.
  • Grant is coming off a great year, culminating in selection to the NEC First Team All-NEC and All-Tournament Team.
  • Last season, he led the team with 26 caused turnovers - eighth in school history and 15th in DI - and 44 ground balls. He topped the NEC and was fifth in the nation with 2.00 caused turnovers per game.
  • He posted a career-high six caused turnovers and seven ground balls at Ohio State last year, tied for the second most in school history. 

ALL WELL WITH GREEN
  • Ian Greenwell had a standout freshman campaign, earning NEC All-Rookie Team honors, and has been solid again as a sophomore. 
  • He has caused a turnover in eight games, with a pair in five of them, as well as at least two ground balls in eight affairs.
  • He is currently sixth in the NEC with 1.30 takeaways per game.
  • He just had two takeaways and four ground balls against LIU, where he also registered an assist. He posted two caused turnovers and four ground balls at Wagner and a takeaway with two GB's at RMU. 
  • Greenwell had two caused turnovers and three GB's against Marquette, two caused turnovers and two ground balls against Bellarmine, and two ground balls and two caused turnovers at #18 Michigan.
  • As a rookie, he saw action in all 13 games, with 12 starts, and was second on the team with 15 caused turnovers - eighth in the NEC - and fourth with 34 GB's.
  • He tallied a season-high three caused turnovers and a season-best six ground balls at VMI and registered two caused turnovers and two ground balls in the NEC semifinals at Le Moyne.

MY MAN PARKER
  • Sophomore Andrew Parker has scored a goal in 19 of his 21 career games and has at least one in every game this year.  
  • He currently leads the team with 21 points and 17 goals, and stands eighth in the NEC with 1.70 goals per game.
  • He found the back of the net twice last week at Le Moyne and at Robert Morris and once at Wagner and versus LIU.   
  • Parker had a hat trick with three goals at #18 Michigan, posted two goals and two assists at Hampton, and his third career hat trick with three markers and a helper versus Bellarmine. 
  • Last season, he earned NEC All-Rookie Team and All-Tournament Team honors.
  • He finished the year fourth on the team with 22 points and 14 goals and third with eight assists, to go along with four caused turnovers and 18 ground balls.
  • Parker scored a goal on his first collegiate shot at Marquette. 
  • He posted his first career hat trick with three goals and an assist versus Wagner and tallied a season-high five points on two goals and a season-best three assists with three ground balls at Cleveland State.
  • In the postseason, he found the back of the net twice in the semifinals at Le Moyne and had four points on two goals and two assists in the NEC Championship. 

IN THE NET
  • The Titans entered the season a little light in goalie experience, but redshirt junior Cooper St. Clair won the starting job and has performed at a high level, registering 138 saves.
  • He leads the NEC and is fifth in the nation with 13.8 saves per game, while he is also fourth in the league with a .531 save percentage.
  • After keeping a high-scoring LIU squad to just nine goals with 18 saves, he now has double-digit saves in eight of 10 games on the year.
  • He stopped 13 shots at Wagner and started NEC play with 15 saves at Robert Morris.  
  • St. Clair posted a season-high 19 against Marquette, 18 at Jacksonville, 15 versus Bellarmine, 14 saves at #10 Ohio State, 10 more at #18 Michigan - allowing just four goals in the second half.
  • Coming into the year, he saw action in just two games, both last season.

PEEGE LEAVES HIS MARK
  • Freshman PJ O'Hanlon has netted a goal in seven games, including a standout performance at Hampton, scoring five times.
  • He is second on the team with 18 points and 15 goals. He is also 11th in the NEC with 1.50 goals per game. 
  • O'Hanlon had his first two collegiate goals at #18 Michigan, and netted two at Jacksonville, at RMU, and at Wagner.
  • Last week against LIU, he recorded a pair of assists with a marker.  
  • As a prep, he totaled 242 career points on 202 goals and 42 assists, leaving his high school fourth all-time in points and second in goals.

SHORT STICK BIG DEFENSE
  • Senior Jackson Ewald's stat sheet might seem light, but the short-stick midfielder is one of the best in the business and was named Second Team All-NEC last year.
  • He had a caused turnover and two ground balls versus LIU. He started the year with a takeaway at Ohio State, and ended with a takeaway and a GB at RMU, and had another caused turnover at Wagner.  
  • Learning from the best SSDM in school history in head coach Charlie Hayes, Ewald posted a career-high six caused turnovers and 16 ground balls last year. 
  • He has 13 caused turnovers and 28 ground balls in 46 career games. 

BERRYLICIOUS
  • Sophomore Malakhi Berry has picked up right where he left off last year, as he is tied for fourth on the team with 23 ground balls and has three goals as a LSM.
  • Against LIU, he had a caused turnover and two ground balls. He had a caused turnover and a career-high six ground balls against Bellarmine, and posted two goals, two caused turnovers, and five GB's at Hampton.  
  • Last season, he saw action in 10 contests and had seven caused turnovers and 15 ground balls with a goal.
  • Berry tallied a season-high two caused turnovers in the NEC semifinals at Le Moyne and matched that with two takeaways, a ground ball, and his first goal in the title game against Robert Morris.

WE NEED MOORE
  • Junior Gavin Moore has played in all 36 games as a short-stick defensive midfielder since entering the Motor City.
  • He had a great game, recording two caused turnovers and tying his career best with four ground balls against Bellarmine, and has picked up a pair of GB's at Jacksonville and at Robert Morris.
  • Moore scored his third career goal and had a caused turnover at Hampton, and picked up two ground balls at #18 Michigan. 
  • Last season, he had 10 caused turnovers and 14 ground balls, including three ground balls in the NEC Semifinals triumph over Le Moyne.

T SQUARED ON THE TAKE
  • Freshman Tommy Thompson started his collegiate career with a pair of caused turnovers at #10 Ohio State, en route to the NEC Freshman of the Week.
  • He was the first SSDM to win a weekly award since head coach Charlie Hayes earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Week honors three times in 2018.
  • He is coming off a two-takeaway game at Le Moyne. He scored his first collegiate goal with two GB's versus Bellarmine, had a takeaway and two GB's at Robert Morris, and registered a CT and GB versus LIU. 
  • Last year at The Hill Academy, Thompson was the Co-Defensive Player of the Year after recording a team-high 90 ground balls and 75 caused turnovers.

I WILL TAKE A HENIGE
  • Graduate senior Sean Henige is back to help provide the Titans with another standout long pole.
  • Henige tied his career high with three caused turnovers at Hampton, and that was after two caused turnovers and four ground balls in the season opener at Ohio State.
  • He has played in 47 career games, starting 40, and registered 42 caused turnovers - 10th in school history - and 79 ground balls. 

DANTON IS THE KEY
  • Senior Danton Molotky missed last season with an injury after not seeing any action in 2024, but he scored his first two collegiate goals against Bellarmine.
  • Since then, he has tallied strikes against Marquette and at Le Moyne.

3 NAMES FOR OUR LSM
  • Freshman Tyler Francis-Renner has earned a lot of playing time early on and just returned after missing a few games with an injury. 
  • He just posted two caused turnovers and four ground balls at Le Moyne.
  • He had a caused turnover in his collegiate debut at Ohio State and added a takeaway and two GB's at Michigan.
  • He picked up three ground balls at Hampton, scored his first collegiate goal versus Bellarmine, and added another caused turnover and GB at Wagner and versus LIU. 

MARK US DOWN
  • A few Titans have officially entered the NCAA scoring column in the first few games.
  • DJ Wojciechowski had his first collegiate points at Hampton on a goal and three assists.
  • Dylan Belliveau registered his first point with an assist at Ohio State and his first goal with a pair at Hampton.
  • Riley Bissett scored his first goal at Hampton.
  • Luke Zajdel recorded his first point on an assist against the Pirates, and scored his first two goals against LIU.
  • Tyler Francis-Renner had his first at Bellarmine, and Whales Racette put in his first at Wagner. 
  • At Le Moyne, Ethan Conover found the back of the net for the first time. 

LEAVE IT UP TO THE CREATOR
  • Junior Julian Greendeer had his sophomore season cut short due to a hand injury last year, but has scored a goal at Hampton and at Wagner.
  • Last year, he ended up playing in eight games, recording five points on three goals and two assists.
  • Last summer, Greendeer and teammate Marcus Thundercloud played with the Haudenosaunee Nation at the U-20 World Lacrosse Championships.

SHOWING OUR SKIN
  • Graduate senior Harold Skinner is back to give the Titans more experience at attack and in the midfield.
  • He returned from injury and scored a goal against Wagner and LIU.
  • He had three points on two goals and an assist, plus a ground ball, at Hampton. He began the year with four GB's at Ohio State and posted three points on a goal and two assists at Michigan. 
  • Last season, Skinner was fifth with a career-best 14 points and seven goals, and fourth with a career-high seven assists. 
  • Skinner totaled a career-high four points on two goals and two assists at LIU, and recorded a career-high three takeaways and six GB's at Cleveland State.
