2012-13: Finished with 22 wins on the season... Win total was second best on the team... Was one of seven Titan fencers to compete at the NCAA Midwest Fencing Regionals at Notre Dame (3/9-10) where he placed 19th in men's epee... Had four wins in pool play at MFC... Helped men's epee team jump from a 16th seed and finish in the 10th spot at the MFC Championships at Notre Dame (3/2-3)... Recorded seven wins at MFC Championship for second-best total for Detroit... Posted four wins at Notre Dame Duals (2/23)... Led team with six wins at Northwestern (2/3)...  Tied for second-highest win total with five victories at UDM Invitational (1/12)... Was named men's team MVP.

2011-12: Took home a bronze medal for placing third in men's epee at the Istvan Danosi (Dec. 4) at Wayne State for his best career finish... Placed 18th in men's epee in first ever NCAA Tournament event at the NCAA Regionals at Cleveland State (March 11)... Finished with fourth highest win total on the season on men's side with 27 wins... Was tied for third on team in wins at Notre Dame Duals with 10 including four one-touch victories (Jan. 29)... Placed 72nd at the MFC Conference Championships at Notre Dame (March 4)... Named to 2011 UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

2010-11: Took home two wins at the Istvan Danosi (Dec. 5)... Went 1-1 in a Detroit 19-8 victory vs. Case Western at the Cleveland State Duals (Jan. 15)... Went 1-0 against a tough Northwestern squad capturing the lone men's epee win in the match-up at the Northwestern Megameet (Feb. 5-6)... Also had a 1-0 record over North Carolina at the Megameet... At the UDM Invitational (Feb. 13), totaled a 1-1 mark vs. Wayne State... Registered two wins at the MFC Championships (Mar. 5-6)... Named to the 2010 UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll. 

2009-10: Finished 12th in men’s epee at the Istvan Danosi at Wayne State in his first ever fencing tournament... Named to the 2009 UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

Prior to Detroit: Competed in golf and cross country at St. Louis High School... Member of divisional co-championship cross country squad... Participated in Tae Kwon Do in addition to golf and cross country... Active as a member of National Honor Society, 4-H Youth Development Organization, Model United Nations and Business Professionals of America.

Personal: Son of Greg and Tresha Mikek... Born in Alma... Has a younger brother, Trent... Enjoys bike riding and reading... Majoring in biochemistry.
