2010-11: Saw playing time in 13 doubles match-ups including nine at the No. 1 position paired mostly with Nick Tolomei (eight matches), but also played with David Stabley (four matches) and Cesar Escobar Serrano (one match)... Named to the 2010 UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

Prior to Detroit: A four-year letterwinner at Grosse Pointe North... Served as team captain in his final three seasons, where he was also named All-MAC (Macomb Area Conference)... Reached the quarter-finals in the state championships at No. 3 singles as a junior and was honored with the Meli/Ciaramitaro Team Player Memorial Scholarship Award as a senior…Was President of Brotherhood (a men’s leadership group) and the Norsement Session council (leadership in Sports).

Personal: The son of Ken and Mary Butts... Has three siblings, Grace, John and Bryan... Lists his biggest thrill in sports as setting a goal and working hard to achieve it...  A business major.
