Prior to Detroit: Acuna is a three-year letterwinner in softball at Central High School, where she has also lettered in track and played basketball ...  Selected First Team All-Conference and twice earned her school's Golden Glove Award ... As a junior, she was Second Team All-Conference after hitting .507 with 35 hits in 69 at-bats, tallying 19 RBI and leading the league with 27 runs scored ... Rookie of the Year at CHS ... Played club with the Triple Crown Shockers for three years and helped her squad to a 2013 Spring Fling championship .. She will also enter UDM as a certified phlebotomist and nurse's assistant after taking college courses while still in high school.
