2012-13: A career year finishing third on the team with a 79.2 average in 21 rounds of golf… The 79.2 is good for third in school history… Played in 10 events and was top 20 eight times with seven top-10 efforts… Posted career best for a round, 36 and 54-hole tournaments on the year… Earned Horizon League All-Tournament honors by tying for sixth with a career-best 233 (81-75-77) at the Horizon League Championship… Came in 121st place at the NCAA Central Regional Championship with a 248 (80-86-82)… Was runner-up at the Titan Tri-Match by firing a 78… Took fifth at the Sunshine Spring Classic with a 156 (75-81)… Had back-to-back ninth-place performances with a 162 (82-80) at the Purple Eagles Invitational and a 158 (83-75) at BGSU’s Black Falcon Invite… Opened the season with a 155 (79-76) tying for seventh at the Detroit Titans Fall Classic… That number did tie her season low, but she then lowered that by nine strokes, carding a 146 (73-73) for a share of sixth at the Dayton Fall Invitational… The 73’s were also career lows for a round… Tallied an 84.3 average in her career in 60 rounds on the links, good for eighth in school history.
2011-12: Took part in 10 tournaments and was fourth on the squad with an 83.9 average…Finished in the top 20 three times with a pair of top-10 efforts…Her best performance was tying for fourth at the Detroit Titans Invitational carding a 166 (80,86) as an individual…Shared sixth at the Titan Quad Challenge with an 81…Tied for 23rd with a 263 (88, 94, 81) at the Horizon League Championship, her first-ever appearance in the league event…Twice carded a personal-best 76 with both occurring in the fall campaign…Opened the season with a career-best 244 (83, 85, 76) at the Redbird Invitational, where she was the second Titan in the clubhouse taking 49th place…Was just outside the top 10 earning 13th at the Detroit Titans Fall Classic with a 155 (79, 76)…
2010-11: Saw action in six events, ending the year with a 91.0 stroke average…Had her season best three-round score of 275 (96, 91, 88) at the Titans Invitational to claim 24th…Twice tallied her season-best 18-hole score of 84 at the Dayton Fall Invite (T-41 with a 171) and the Don Benbow Invitational (68th with a 180)…Shared eighth in the dual against Oakland carding a 175 (89, 86)… A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
2009-10: Made three appearances as a freshman, playing as an individual in tournaments hosted by Cincinnati and Bowling Green as well as UDM’s own Titans Invitational…Had her best individual placing when she came in 24th at Detroit’s home tournament…Posted two other milestones at Bowling Green’s Falcon Invitational with personal bests for low 18 (83 in the final round) and 36-hole total (177).
Personal: Played a major role on a Flint Powers team which captured consecutive Division 3 state championships during her last two seasons on the squad…Sears was co-medalist at the 2008 Big Nine Conference’s pre-season tournament, was second at the regionals and tied for ninth place at the state finals…Tied for 23rd at the 2009 Michigan Junior Girls Amateur…Former Powers teammate Ashley Swanson now plays for Ferris State…Her brother Nick is a senior on the golf team at nearby Madonna University this year… Majoring in special education.
