Former Men's Soccer Player Signs with Esbjerg fB

Andrew Ornoch, who played with the University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team from 2003-05, recently signed a four-year deal with Esbjerg fB of the Danish Superligaen.

Prior to signing with Esbjerg fB, Ornoch competed with Lombard FC Papa. Since graduation, Ornoch has also competed with the Canadian National Team and the Olympic U23-team. He will return to the United States in March to compete with the Canadian squad in Olympic qualifying competition.

Ornoch received several honors while playing for the Titans, which included being named Horizon League Player of the Year and conference offensive player of the year in 2005. In addition, Ornoch was named to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Squad (2003), as well as the all-conference second team (2004) and the All-Horizon League First Team (2005).

Ornoch still holds several records in Detroit's record books, which includes the fourth spot in career goals (26), is seventh in career points (60) and is sixth in shots (127). In addition, Ornoch is tied for fifth in a single season with 12 goals (2004) and is also tied for 11th with 27 points in a single season (2004).
