The men and women's fencing team will host the UDM Invitational at Calihan Hall on Sunday, Jan. 11. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and will feature dual matches between the Titans, Michigan and Michigan State.

The men's team is led by senior Craig Budzynski (Grand Rapids, MI/Forest Hills) who claimed individual honors at the prestigious Remenyik competition held in October and recently won the individual foil title for the fourth consecutive year at the Istvan Danosi Michigan Open held at Wayne State University in December.

Freshman newcomer Mike Purdy-Sachs (Port Huron, MI/Home School) is off to a solid start finishing second at the Remenyik competition after falling to Budzynski in the title match. He also placed third at the Istvan Danosi Michigan Open.

On the women's side, senior Ashlee McLemore (Detroit, MI/Dominican) looks to lead the way after claiming first place honors in the saber event at the Istvan Danosi Michigan Open while placing eighth at the Remenyik.
