Full Results

Three runners scored in the top 150 and UDM had four runners run under 20 minutes as the Titans battled a tough field and wet conditions at the 5k Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday.

“As good a top five as we have had in a while,” said head coach Guy Murray. “The women's average time was 19:40, and it has been a long time since we have been this close to having five under 20.”

Beata Gorzynska (Ilawa, Poland/Mazurski of Olsztynie) was the top harrier for the third week in a row as the senior earned 107th in 19:15.

Freshman Alexandria Vintevoghel (Casco, MI / Marine City) once again put forth another tremendous effort in her rookie season, taking 119th in a season-best 19:19, while junior Kristie Ferrans (Carleton, MI/Monroe) placed 159th overall, and 149th in the scoring column, with a time of 19:42.

Titan sophomore Stephanie Rossman (Caledonia, MI/Caledonia), who finished 179th in 19:57, and freshman Katrina Oberski (Clyde, MI/Port Huron), who earned a collegiate-best finishing 201st in 20:09, were the final two scorers for Detroit on the day.

Rounding out the rest of the red, white and blue was sophomore Kirstin Mooney (Stirling, ON/St. Theresa Catholic) (239th -20:46), freshmen Sarah Martinez (Grand Blanc, MI/Flint Powers) (241st-20:49) and Katie Weishaar (Plymouth, MI/Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard) (246th-20:57), senior Jennifer DeFauw (Harper Woods, MI/Grosse Pointe North) (248th-20:59) and sophomore Kristina Arko (Euclid, OH/Euclid) (261st-21:18).

Detroit will have a short turnaround as the Titans will run in the Michigan Intercollegiate in Grand Rapids on Friday, Oct. 9.
