Detroit Titans women's soccer head coach Mike Lupenec has announced the signing of six student-athletes as a part of the 2009 fall recruiting class.
“This class will make our team more athletic and faster which I believe is crucial to compete with some of the better teams in the conference,” said Lupenec. “I expect each recruit to step in, start and contribute right away, which will add more depth to our team to take it to the next level.”

Lupenec on Carter: “Nina is a very athletic forward who will make our team a lot faster and give up front help to senior Emily Kiely.”
Defense/Midfield
Midland, MI/Midland
-2007 and 2008 Division I All-State Second Team as a junior and sophomore
-Plays for Vardar Soccer Club
Lupenec on Dornbos: “Rebekah is probably the best technical and tactical soccer player of the class in regards of ability and is great in the air. I see her playing at left fullback with an attacking style that will make our backline a more offensive unit.”
Defense/Midfield
Rochester Hills, MI/Rochester
-Helped lead Rochester to Division I state final game finishing runner-up with 21-1-2 record as a junior
-Plays for Vardar Soccer Club
Lupenec on Dzuris: “I envision Sarah as a defensive midfielder or right fullback. She is also very good in the air, very talented and will give us the ability to possess the ball at an increased level.”

Lupenec on Goszczynski: “Danielle is a great athlete and has a solid work ethic. She will come in and compete for a position either up front or as an outside midfielder. It may take her a few games to adjust to the technical pace of collegiate soccer but I see her as an impact player right away.”

Lupenec on Leone: “Mary is a very hard-nosed and good all-around soccer player who I see as backline defender or defensive midfielder. She brings a solid defensive attitude to the team but can also play multiple positions if needed.”
