DETROIT -- Looking to start off 2-0 for the first time in 10 years, the Detroit women's basketball team continues its season-opening three game homestand on Tuesday as the Titans welcome Ball State into the friendly confines of Calihan Hall. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.

Fans can catch the game on the Horizon League Network with Dan York calling all of the action. A live stats feed through gametracker will also be available. Both links are located on top of the page.

The Titans are coming off a 58-53 win over Oakland last Friday, thanks in large part to senior Tayler Langham's career-high 16 points. Junior Lauren Allen also had a great game ending with 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals, while sophomore Demeisha Fambro added 12 markers.

Ball State will be playing its third game in five days after dropping the season opener to Indiana at home, before rebounding to down Wright State, 64-63, on Sunday. The game will be the Cardinals first on the road.

THE DETROIT-BALL STATE SERIES
The series has been brief to say the least as the two programs have hooked up just twice, with the last coming over 20 years ago.

Ball State won the last match-up, 71-66, in the Motor City on Dec. 19, 1987, while the Titans routed BSU, 90-65, in Muncie on Mar. 2, 1987.

ABOUT BALL STATE
Ball State has been busy to start the year as Tuesday's game will be its third game in five days. The Cardinals started the season at home with an 81-66 loss to Indiana last Friday before rebounding to beat Wright State, 64-63, at home on Sunday.

The Cardinals were picked to finish fourth in the Mid-American Conference's West Division, a year after going 14-17 overall and 7-9 in the MAC.

BSU has four seniors and three juniors on its roster and is led by senior forward Emily Maggert, who was named to the preseason All-MAC West Division team. She led the Cardinals in points (17.0) and rebounds (10.6) last season and is coming off a 20-point, 14-rebound day against Wright State.

Junior forward Suzanne Grossnickle also had a big day against WSU netting a career-best 16 points and pulling down nine rebounds.

Kelly Packard is in her third season as head coach of the Cardinals, where she owns a record of 41-27.

INTERESTING FIRST
Detroit is playing on the date of Nov. 16 for the first game in program history.

JUST CALL ME PERFECT
Senior Tayler Langham came off the bench with a career game as the lone Titan senior posted a career-high 16 points against Oakland. Even more impressive was that she was perfect from the field hitting all five of her shots, including a 3-pointer, as well as all five of her free throw attempts.

ANOTHER LANGHAM STAT
In her short career, the Titans are 4-0 when senior Tayler Langham scores in double figures.

AGAINST THE HOOSIER STATE
Detroit has done a fine job when it comes to taking on teams from the Hoosier State. UDM is 62-41 all-time verses schools in Indiana, which includes a 1-1 record against Ball State and 4-0 mark against the IU Hoosiers.

TITANS VS. THE MAC
The Titans are 67-59 all-time against current teams from the Mid-American Conference, although they did drop their only two meeting against MAC schools last year.

Since head coach Autumn Rademacher took over the reins as the Titan leader, Detroit is 1-3 against the conference with its lone win coming in double overtime at Eastern Michigan, 76-75, on Dec. 20, 2008.

LAST TIME UDM WAS 2-0?
Detroit will be looking to go 2-0 for the first time since the 1999-2000 season when the Titans opened with two-straight wins on the road against Central Michigan (72-58) and Valparaiso (86-77).

The last time Detroit won its first two home games was at the beginning of the 2000-01 campaign as the Titans defeated Western Michigan (85-81) and Valparaiso (76-70).

OFFICIALLY IN THE BOOKS
Two freshmen are officially entrenched in collegiate basketball as Megan Hatter and Senee Shearer appeared in the season opener against Oakland. Hatter played three minutes picking up a steal, while Shearer saw 14 minutes of action going 2-of-7 from the field netting five points and getting two caroms.
