Box Score

Post-Game Press Conference On Titan YouTube

UDM's magic ride through the Horizon League Championships ended on Saturday in Indianapolis as the Titans fell to second-seeded Wright State, 69-50, in the conference semi-finals.

The Titans are now 20-14 after having topped Valparaiso (sixth seed) and Green Bay (third) in the first two rounds of the league tournament. Well-rested after receiving a bye into the semi-finals, Wright State will take a 20-11 record into Tuesday's championship game.

Seventh-seeded Detroit started quickly as Thomas Kennedy (Detroit, MI/Southeastern) made a pair of early buckets to help sponsor a 7-3 lead just 2:34 into the contest. Wright State began a three-point barrage after that, though, beginning with a 12-2 run over the next three minutes to keep the Titans at bay. Wright State's hot shooting continued as the Titans – playing their third game in five days – began to wither, and the Raiders took a commanding 39-18 lead into intermission.

Detroit made quick run after halftime, cutting its deficit to 41-27 at the 16:49 mark as center Eli Holman (Richmond, CA/Richmond) completed a three-point play. Wright State quickly responded with a 10-0 run to keep Detroit on the ropes, and then cruised to its 19-point victory.

Holman led the Titans with 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds, completing an impressive three-game tournament run with averages of 16.3 points and 11.7 rebounds. Kennedy finished with nine points and fellow senior Eulis Stephens (Detroit, MI/Southeastern) added eight off the bench. Wright State had four players in double figures led by Ronnie Thomas (18) and Troy Tabler (16). Between them, the two Raiders shot 8-for-11 from three-point range and, as a team, WSU was a sizzling .522 (12-for-23) behind the arc.

Overall, WSU shot .491 for the night while the Titans went .391 and committed 14 turnovers compared to the Raiders' nine.
