Dean Haddad Named Pep Band Director

Dean Haddad, a longtime Titan fan and supporter of Detroit Athletics, was named the new UDM Pep Band Director.

“Dean is an accomplished performer and a huge fan of the Titans,” said Brandon Longmeier, Director of Athletic Marketing and Promotions. “He has been involved in a number of youth basketball outings at Calihan Hall and will be a great leader for our pep band.”

Haddad is a saxophonist who has been performing professionally around the Detroit Metro area since 1986. He is also an elementary school teacher with the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board, a position he has held for the past 18 years.

Along with his music and teaching career, Haddad is a coach with the Our Lady of Mount Carmel volleyball and basketball teams, winning seven basketball championships and eight volleyball titles. He also coached travel basketball for Windsor Athletics with his teams winning provincial championship in 2002 and 2005.

He has also been involved in the Youth Basketball Canadian schools' effort to play at Calihan Hall before Titan home games.

Haddad graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Studies from Wayne State in 1991. He is married to his wife, Melanie, and the couple has a four-year old son Cade.
