MILWAUKEE -- Sophomore Dominique Dixon (Detroit, MI/Renaissance) tallied her second-straight 30-point game with a career-high 32 points, and the Titans shot 57 percent in the first half to race out to a huge lead that they would never relinquish as UDM outgunned Milwaukee, 90-76, at the Klotsche Center on Sunday afternoon.

The 90 points was the most scored by the Titans since a 90-72 victory over IPFW in 2002 as Detroit moved to 7-6 on the season and 1-1 in the Horizon League.

Dixon was 11-of-16 from the field, hitting a career-best six 3-pointers while also collecting a career-high five assists and matching her personal best with five rebounds. The 32 points comes after she had 31 at No. 21 Green Bay in her last game.

Sophomore Cherridy Thornton (Detroit, MI/Frank Cody Senior) tied her career-high with 20 points, including four 3-pointers, while sophomore Yar Shayok (Ottawa, ON/Hillcrest) netted 17 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

It was all Titans from the very start as Detroit hit eight of its first 11 shots from the field. Leading by one, 7-6, the Titans took command with a 24-7 run to open a 31-13 lead with 8:41 left in the first half. Dixon was the main catalyst hitting her first five shots from the field, including three 3-pointers, while Thornton was also hitting from deep connecting on a pair of triples.

Milwaukee (3-10, 0-2 HL) was able to trim the Titan lead down to 11, 31-20, with a 7-0 run, but a 17-2 Detroit spurt followed to end any hopes of a comeback as the red, white and blue would take a 49-26 advantage into the half.

The Titans shot 57.6 percent from the field (19-of-33) in the first half, including 53.8 percent (7-of-13) from behind the arc en route to Detroit scoring a season-high 49 points. The Detroit defense forced 14 Milwaukee turnovers, which it converted into 16 points, and held the Panthers to 1-of-12 from three.

It was more of the same in the second as Detroit maintained its double-digit lead throughout the period, including a 22-point lead, 80-58, with 4:32 left in the game, before a late Milwaukee flurry brought the Panthers within 12 on four occasions.

Detroit ended the game shooting 53.7 percent (29-of-54), including a hair under 50 percent from the three-point line (10-of-21). The red, white and blue also came away with 11 steals and recorded a season-high 20 assists.

The Titans will now return home for a pair of Horizon League games, starting with a match-up against Valparaiso on Thursday. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., at Calihan Hall.
